After Traveling to Four Countries, Prabowo Subianto Proceeds to Malaysia for a Meeting with Sultan Ibrahim

During his first official visit to Malaysia on Saturday, September 7, Indonesian Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto met with the King of Malaysia, His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim.

The meeting focused on various strategic issues, with Prabowo expressing his commitment to exploring more areas of cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia.

Prabowo stated, “I value the strong relationship between our two countries and will continue to strive to enhance our cooperation, especially in the defense sector.” He also expressed appreciation for the King’s well wishes and hopes for the partnership to grow for mutual benefit.

Prabowo and Sultan Ibrahim have been close friends for over 40 years, with their bond forming during military training at Fort Bragg, USA.

Both leaders expressed hope for strong bilateral cooperation, particularly in anticipation of the 44th General Border Committee (GBC) Malindo meeting to collaborate on border issues.

Prabowo’s visit to Malaysia follows working trips to Brunei Darussalam, Laos, and Cambodia, along with a personal visit to Thailand where he met former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and newly elected Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. (RR)
