Jakarta — An important political analyst, Ujang Komarudin, has emphasized the increasing unity between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and President-elect Prabowo Subianto as the presidential and vice-presidential inauguration approaches. Their frequent joint appearances have brought a sense of calm and stability to the public, creating a peaceful atmosphere throughout the country.
Ujang stated to reporters on Monday (October 14), “This unity brings peace to the people. The public values it because all Indonesians are invested in ensuring a smooth and stable transition from the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin administration to Prabowo-Gibran.”
Recently, Jokowi and Prabowo had a casual dinner together at Plataran Senayan, and just the day before, Prabowo and Gibran had lunch with Jokowi at his residence in Solo. On that day, they also attended the Apel Pengamanan Pelantikan ceremony at the Brimob headquarters in Depok, West Java, where they inspected the security forces for the upcoming October 20, 2024, presidential inauguration.
Ujang added, “Despite efforts to create division and conflict between them, Jokowi and Prabowo continue to maintain a close and harmonious relationship, showing a familial bond that benefits the nation.”
During the security ceremony, Prabowo awaited Jokowi’s arrival, and they both rode together in a Pindad all-terrain assault vehicle (ATAV) to inspect the readiness of the security forces for the upcoming inauguration.
According to Ujang, this collaboration signifies a smooth transfer of power from Jokowi to Prabowo, demonstrating Indonesia’s stability and peaceful democratic process to the rest of the world.
Ujang concluded, “The actions of Jokowi and Prabowo are crucial in maintaining stability and order in Indonesia. The transition of government from Jokowi to Prabowo is progressing peacefully and smoothly, which is highly appreciated by the public.” (RR)
