Isaque Hattu, Chair of the Indonesian Diaspora in São Paulo, expressed his delight in welcoming President Prabowo and his delegation. Despite being a small community, the Indonesian diaspora in Brazil displayed a strong sense of solidarity as they greeted their homeland’s leader with enthusiasm.
During their meeting, Hattu shared his family background with Prabowo, revealing his roots in Maluku and Kupang. The President showed interest in Hattu’s parents, who were missionaries in Brazil, years ago. Prabowo even recognized the name of Petrus Oktavianus, an Indonesian figure who had been on assignment in Brazil. As the conversation came to a close, Hattu expressed his hopes for strengthened ties between Indonesia and Brazil through cultural exchange and grassroots engagement.
