President Joko Widodo, during his speech at the closing ceremony of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Congress in Solo, Central Java, revealed that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program has gained international recognition and is now a topic of discussion in global diplomatic circles. The program, which aims to provide free nutritious meals to schoolchildren, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers, has successfully reached over six million beneficiaries as of July 2025. President Widodo expressed optimism that the number of beneficiaries will continue to grow rapidly, with a target of reaching 20 million beneficiaries by the end of August 2025, and potentially surpassing 25 million. The MBG program not only addresses malnutrition but also supports local food producers and vendors, promotes social equity, and contributes to long-term nation-building efforts. The program has garnered attention internationally, reflecting Indonesia’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of its citizens.
