Prabowo Recalls Receiving Peru’s Highest Honor – Meeting Peruvian President

Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, fondly recalled the moment when he was honored by Peruvian President Dina Boluarte with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru, the highest distinction bestowed by the Peruvian government, on November 14, 2024. This memory was shared during a press statement at Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta during Boluarte’s official visit. The strong diplomatic relations between the two countries since 1975 were highlighted by Prabowo as he expressed his gratitude for the honor, which he considered a tribute to the entire Indonesian nation.

In a reciprocal gesture, Prabowo presented Boluarte with Indonesia’s highest award, the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, in recognition of her significant contributions to strengthening bilateral friendship and cooperation. The President emphasized the importance of this partnership and expressed hope for its continued growth in the future. Additionally, cooperation agreements were signed between the governments of Indonesia and Peru in various areas such as narcotics eradication, combating illicit trade, food security, mining, energy transition, fisheries, and defense. This partnership signifies the commitment of both nations to working together for mutual benefits and further deepening their relations.
