President Prabowo Subianto always had a special connection with farmers, as stated by Dedek Prayudi from the Presidential Communication Office. This bond can be traced back to his time in the military, where he received support from local farmers, and his leadership of the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association. Recently, a grand corn harvest event was held in Jenggalu Village, Bengkulu Province, as part of the Food Security Program initiated by President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The program aims to reduce Indonesia’s reliance on foreign food supplies, especially in light of global uncertainties that could impact food prices. With government support in the form of subsidies for fertilizers, pesticides, and machinery, farmers are motivated to increase their yields and production capacity. Efforts are being made to ensure administrative processes are streamlined for farmers to access these subsidies efficiently. Additionally, the National Food Agency is collaborating with the State Logistics Agency to absorb the corn harvests and integrate supply chains for farmers and livestock breeders. This initiative is supported by various local officials and organizations, emphasizing the importance of food security and prosperity for farmers in Indonesia.
