Alex Palou’s race at Phoenix Raceway came to a sudden halt after an early crash in the Good Ranchers 250. The four-time IndyCar Series champion collided with Rinus VeeKay’s #76 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet, ending his hopes for victory after just 22 laps on the 1-mile tri-oval. Despite starting 10th on the grid, Palou’s #10 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda quickly moved up into the top three. However, he was passed by Graham Rahal shortly after a restart on Lap 19. The fateful incident occurred when VeeKay attempted to pass Palou from the high line, resulting in contact that sent Palou’s car crashing into the outside wall. Palou expressed his uncertainty over the incident, while VeeKay was left frustrated and concerned about potential suspension damage. VeeKay continued on but was running five laps down in 23rd place. The race ended prematurely for Palou, reflecting the unpredictable nature of racing.
