Cleetus McFarland Awaits NASCAR O’Reily Superspeedway License Decision

Cleetus McFarland is eagerly waiting to find out if he will be approved to race in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series event at Talladega Superspeedway on April 25. He discussed this topic on his Bald Eagles podcast on Monday. The 31-year-old YouTuber and amateur racer expressed his desire to participate but also mentioned his realistic target of racing in the summer events at Daytona and Talladega. McFarland seemed indifferent about the approval, stating that he did not come into this opportunity with the expectation of being approved by NASCAR.

Following his race at Rockingham Speedway, where he finished six laps down, concerns were raised by Richard Childress Racing executive Danny Lawrence regarding whether enough was done to qualify for a superspeedway license. Lawrence mentioned the possibility of having to run another race before the Daytona and Talladega events to meet NASCAR’s requirements. Despite the uncertainty, if McFarland is not approved for the NOAPS event, he still plans to participate in the ARCA Racing Series race at Talladega in April.
