Jakarta – Following his participation in the High-Level Conference in Jordan and an official visit to Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Defense promptly briefed President Joko Widodo on the outcomes at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, June 13.
“I reported on the summit in Jordan, which focused on preparing humanitarian aid in anticipation of a hoped-for ceasefire,” said Prabowo to the press.
Prabowo mentioned that he would continue to work on persuading other nations to use their influence to shape global opinion and push Israel to halt its attacks on Gaza.
“In recent weeks, several European countries have recognized Palestine and called for Palestine’s acceptance as a UN member. The UN Security Council has also proposed a ceasefire,” noted Prabowo.
“With no veto from any country, this is a significant development. If Israel refuses to agree to a ceasefire, it risks becoming isolated globally,” he added.
At the same time, Prabowo emphasized that it is not only Israel that must halt its attacks, but Hamas must also agree to a ceasefire for the well-being of its own people.
