Prabowo Subianto, the President-elect of Indonesia for the term 2024-2029, wasted no time in resuming his duties just a week after undergoing successful surgery for a leg injury. He made an appearance at the 78th anniversary of Bhayangkara held at Monas, Jakarta, on Monday (July 1), alongside President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and other dignitaries.
Dressed in a gray suit, Prabowo was warmly greeted by Jokowi at the event, where he stood upright and saluted, receiving applause from the audience. The day before, Prabowo took to his personal Instagram account to announce the success of his operation and express his readiness to serve the country.
Prabowo had been dealing with a long-standing injury from two parachuting accidents during his time in the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). He expressed his gratitude to Allah SWT and the medical team at the National Defense Central Hospital for their care and professionalism during his treatment.
Acknowledging the risks involved in his surgery, Prabowo stated that he underwent the procedure for the sake of the country and its people. He also thanked Jokowi for his moral support and prayers during the surgical process.
