Jakarta — President-elect of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has raised concerns about the fragile state of global affairs, pointing to the unwise actions of certain world leaders as a key factor in the escalating tensions.
Speaking at the opening of the Forum Sinergitas Legislator PKB in Jakarta on Thursday (October 10), Prabowo emphasized the need for wisdom and mutual respect among nations to maintain global harmony.
He criticized countries that seek to impose their will on others instead of fostering tolerance and cooperation.
Prabowo highlighted the tragic consequences of conflicts like the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, where innocent civilians, including women and children, are suffering.
Despite the unrest in various parts of the world, Prabowo commended Indonesia for maintaining peace, attributing it to the open dialogue and cooperation among different political parties in the country, including PKB.
While acknowledging that PKB supported a different candidate in the previous election, Prabowo expressed confidence in their collaboration to work towards the nation’s development.
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of respecting differences and coming together for the common goal of nation-building. (RR)
