Prabowo Solidarity: Palestine Stance at PUIC Forum

Indonesia’s lifelong commitment to supporting Palestine was reaffirmed by President Prabowo Subianto during the opening of the 19th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) in Jakarta on Wednesday night. Prabowo delivered a powerful message emphasizing Indonesia’s unwavering stance. “I reiterate that Indonesia’s commitment to the rights of the Palestinian people to live freely and independently will not waver and will not stop,” said Prabowo. He expressed deep concern over the long-standing suffering of the Palestinian people, stating that the Islamic world must go beyond rhetoric and mere declarations. “I repeat again in this forum: it is time for us to move beyond mere talk. Enough with endless resolutions. The Palestinian people have been victims for too long. What they need now is real, concrete action,” he stressed. Prabowo urged Muslim countries to set aside division, overcome mutual suspicion, and end internal competition for the greater good of the community. “Let us transcend our differences. Let us overcome our distrust. Let us end our rivalry. What is truly important is the welfare of the Muslim world,” he expressed. He emphasized that forums like the PUIC should serve as an effective platform to strengthen solidarity, advocate for justice, and provide real solutions for Muslims worldwide. “This gathering arose from a shared awareness that Muslim countries must unite in the face of global challenges and defend the rights and interests of Muslims everywhere,” he said. Prabowo also reminded participants that the Indonesian Constitution explicitly mandates the country to contribute to global peace, freedom, and social justice. “The solution to global issues begins with our strength as a nation. How can we help others if we are weak? Our voice will only be heard if we are united and strong,” he concluded.
