EU Eases Visa Access for Indonesians from Second Visit After Prabowo’s Brussels Trip

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has introduced a new visa policy to facilitate entry into the European Union for Indonesian citizens. The policy allows Indonesians on their second visit to the EU to obtain a multi-entry Schengen visa. This announcement was made during a joint press conference with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Brussels. Von der Leyen emphasized that the visa policy aims to strengthen long-term ties between Indonesia and the EU, particularly in areas such as education, investment, and social exchange. The new policy is part of the people-to-people connections pillar of the EU-Indonesia strategic partnership, fostering bridges between the two nations. President Prabowo welcomed the deepening of EU-Indonesia ties and highlighted the importance of trust and shared values in building relationships. He expressed hope for the completion and signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in Brussels, further solidifying the partnership between Indonesia and the EU. With the implementation of the new visa policy and the strengthening of economic ties, both parties have embarked on a new chapter of openness, cooperation, and mutual benefits.
